Exchange/Pending Exchange
The need to exchange damaged and/or malfunctioning inventory is universal in fast paced equipment support operations. Whether an item has been returned to the warehouse for exchange (standard), or the new item is shipped in advance (pending), RentalWorksTM makes it easy for your operation to satisfy your client’s need without affecting billing.

• Standard Exchange – scan Barcode(s) (Deal and Department automatically detected) or enter in I-code(s) for returned items, and scan out replacement inventory. Exchange contract is created to document the transaction, and billing is not affected.

• Pending Exchange – Select appropriate Deal and Department, and scan/enter in Barcode(s) or I-code(s) for the items to be shipped as a pending exchange. A Pending Exchange contract is created to document the transaction, and a bold reminder notification appears in RW until the damaged inventory is returned and the exchange is completed. Agents have the option of billing for the additional equipment if exchanged items are not returned before completion of rental. Automated Repair Status – items returned for exchange are automatically entered into repair, and repair tags (with user notes) can be generated from the exchange module.
